Since we are aware of the importance of promoting sustainable tourism development, and we have attained the principles and objectives specifically adopted at the World Summit on Sustainable Development 2015, COP 21 and the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism + 20, barcelonaciclotour and barcelonarentabike undertake to carry out its activities through a sustainable management by adopting commitments aimed at preventing, eliminating or reducing the impact of our facilities and activities, as well as optimizing the sustainability of our establishment by minimizing its impact on the environment.
In the same line, our company has adopted a number of policies on responsible tourism, through which it commits to meet the requirements established in the BIOSPHERE Adhesion, which includes, among others, the legal requirements that regulate the effects generated by the tourism activity.
In addition, we commit ourselves to motivate and train our staff with formative and awareness activities about the tenets of Responsible Tourism; to promote best environmental practices in the environs and participate in outdoor activities; and finally, to inform both internally and externally about the environmental progress and actions in the company.
Similarly, our entity manifests the compromise to fight against sexual exploitation or any other kind of exploitation and commercial abuse, particularly against children, young men and women and other minority groups. We commit to adopt universal accessibility measures.
One of our main objectives is to optimize the sustainable management, assuming the commitments for a sustained improvement in all the areas related to social, economic and environmental sustainability, as well as those related to satisfying our customers. Hence, we will revise and analyse projects for further extension of our facilities, criteria for sustainability activities and efficiency in the use of resources.
This Policy of Responsible Tourism will be updated according to the needs, adopting and publishing in both cases new objectives of sustainability.
